Happy 2016!

Happy New Year to all our family & friends! We wish that 2016 will be one of the best years yet! Cheers 2016!

NYE 2015

We thought it might be fun to have a little New Years Eve Party-last year we had 2 babies with RSV so we didn't get to do anything fun. So we invited the Dubill family over for dinner and to ring in the New Year with Rio De Janeiro which has 8pm KC time! The kids had fun playing while the grown ups had fun catching up! Again we tried for a fun group pic but again got the "real life" version! We had a Netflix countdown which the kids loved-they loved it so much I think they did it like 10 more times!
After the Dubill's headed out we got the kids to bed and then set out to meet our goal of staying up until midnight! Thank goodness for our 2 new Netflix shows (Making of a Murderer & The Killing) -they kept us awake and we made it to midnight! We toasted to 2016 wishing it to be one of our best years yet and then called it a night!

Mommy-Ben-Daddy Day

Since Vince was off the week after Christmas we decided that it would be fun to have a special day with just Ben! I can't remember the last time we did something fun with just Ben. We try weekly to get special one on one time with each kid even if that means just a quick Starbucks run with one kid. But we need to get better about Vince & I taking a kid out for a special day. So the Tuesday after Christmas the babies stayed on their GG/Grandma schedule and we told Ben we had a day of surprises for him! We started off going to breakfast at Eggtc and of course had to get a big cinnamon roll! After filling our tummies we took Ben to get a new fleece-he apparently has had a bit of a growth spurt as of late! Then is was off to bowling! Ben was so excited when we pulled into the bowling alley! We had such a great time bowling! I think Ben & I could have stayed all day had Vince let us! After bowling we went and got a special ice-cream treat and then it was time to head back home and wait for the babies to come back home!

First Snow Of The Season

Ben got his wish for snow just 3 days after Christmas! Ben could NOT wait to go get out in it! He asked me if I would take his picture outside eating snow! I of course said yes but before I could even did his snow gear out and grab my camera he was out the door...in his jammies! I just love seeing that look of pure joy on his face as he grabbed a huge pile of snow to eat! He lasted about 20 minutes before he got cold and came in! But he made me fill 3 bowl of snow before he came in so he and the babies could have snow for a late morning snack! Vince turned them into real snow-cones when he added snow-cone syrup to them! Ben and Abby couldn't get enough but Will wasn't impressed.
After quiet time the snow had really started to stack up and Ben was itching to go back out and sled. One of the perks of living on the 15th hole of a golf course is that we have great sledding hills right in our back yard! So I got Ben all bundled up and Vince & him set out to sled! Abby woke up a few minutes later so I bundled her up and took her outside. She was super cautious about walking outside but once she did you could see the wonder in her eyes! She had never seen such a sight (well that she remembered anyway) and thought it was the coolest thing ever! I took her over to sled with Ben and she had the biggest smile on her face!
Finally Will woke up so I bundled him up and took him outside. He immediately started throwing snow! His mitten fell off and he kept saying "oh sock oh sock" it was too cute! We then did a little more sledding and Vince & Ben had the first snowball fight of the season. I had gotten Ben a snowball maker and much to my surprise it did a great job!
Ben would have stayed out for days had I let him but I enticed him with hot chocolate so he agreed to some in!
