Ben's 1st Royals Game

Vince has been dying to take Ben to his 1st Royals game since we got back to KC. So he decided that Sunday was the day. Lucky for us he picked great seats in the shade which was a life saver since it was so hot & humid out. We packed up and headed out to the K a little after noon. I was a little worried since nap time is at 1:30 but figured we would just see what happens. When we got to the gate the woman who took our tickets told us to make sure we got Ben his first game certificate-which we made sure we got! She also rubbed him for good luck! And looks like Ben was the lucky charm the Royals needed since we beat the Cubs 6-3! We got to our seats and settled in for the game just as the crowd went wild-Ben's face was priceless. He wasn't quite sure about all the noise he looked like he was going to scream but thankfully he didn't! He soon acclimated to the crowd and was fine the rest of the game-he even took a snooze during the game! I got my traditional ballgame pretzel and gave Ben a little taste. He thought he was such a big boy with his tiny bites of pretzel and his bottle of water! We stayed until the bottom of the 7th and decided we should get home before the traffic got bad and so Ben could take a real nap. I know that this marked the first of many games Ben will enjoy at the K!

Swim Lessons

A few months back Natalie and I signed the boys up for swim lessons! We figured its never to early to start teaching them. Yesterday was their first day. We went up early and let Ryan & Ben play in the baby pool for a bit-they had a blast! Then it was time for class in the big pool. I am so happy because both the boys did great! We splashed, we sang, we played with toys it was pretty fun!  The boys were exhausted by the end of class and Natalie & I got quite the arm workout!

Fathers Day 2011

I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband who has turned into an even more amazing dad! Ben and I are truly blessed! I really thought it would be hard to find a husband who could turn into an even better father but luckily I was wrong! Ben is one lucky kid that's for sure!
I couldn't come up with any good gift ideas this year. What do you get for the guy who has it all? So I remembered that I had some wood letters that were sitting in a box that I had bought and painted while I was pregnant...a B a E and N and thought I could finally put them to use. So I gave Ben one letter at a time and shot some pic's and put them in a nice frame that had 3 openings. Vince really liked it! Yay!
After we celebrated at home for a bit we headed to my parents to help my dad celebrate and  for dinner. I am so grateful for my dad. I wouldn't be the person I am today without his love and support. He let me find my way but was always there to catch me if/when I fell and still does to this day! Thanks Dad! I love you!
We had a great family dinner...Vince grilled steaks and my mom made baked potatoes, corn, salad and grandma rolls! And mom made a cherry and a peach pie for dessert! I think I have gained 5 lbs just over the weekend!

Annual Rupp Lake Trip

This past weekend is a weekend we look forward to all year...The Annual Rupp Lake Trip! We left on Friday and headed down to the lake house. Ben slept most of the way and was only a bit cranky towards the end of the drive. Carol, Jimmy, Angela, Paige & Lakin had all gone down earlier and Kurt & Reece would be down on Saturday! J, Stefanie & Sierra couldn't make it this year. Nor could Carrie & Mark-that would be to long of a drive for a almost 9 month pregnant Carrie. We missed them all but next year hopefully we will all be back together for the trip!
When we got there we quickly unpacked and headed straight for the boat. This would be Ben's first boat ride and he had a blast! We thought he might throw a fit about wearing his life jacket but he was such a trooper! We had a great dinner and then Angela & Vince pulled out their guitars and played for a bit. It was a great first night at the lake!
Saturday was a nice lazy day on the dock and the boat! We brought Ben's pool and put it on the dock for him. He had a blast! Especially since his cousins couldn't get enough of him! We took a nice long boat ride and Ben even took a snoozer on the boat! After a yummy steak dinner we took the boat out and watched a thunderstorm come closer and closer. Needless to say it was a very quick boat ride! Kurt, Angela, Vince & I watched the storm from the dock with some yummy drinks before heading to bed.
Sunday always seems to come so fast when we are down there. We had such a great time...can't wait until the next trip!

Happy Birthday Larry!

Sunday was my father-in-law Larry's birthday! We had planned on a little pool party at J & Stef's but the weather was not looking so great so we decided to have a birthday lunch at our house. Vince picked up some Jack Stack and Stef & Sierra made a cake. We had a really nice birthday lunch! And Sierra did a great job on the birthday cake!

We got to keep on celebrating Larry's birthday when we headed to Cactus Grill for Larry's birthday dinner with Marq & Megan! It was a yummy dinner and Ben a blast!
Thanks to Larry for letting us help him celebrate his special day! Cheers to many many more birthdays!

Loose Park

Today Vince and I decided to go grab some Mr.Goodcents sandwich's and head over to Loose Park for a picnic. We had a nice lunch and then took Ben to the water spray park. Of course anything doing with water is always a hit so he had a blast! Then we headed to the swings-another top pick for Ben! He had so much fun swinging!  After a nice walk through the rose garden it was time to get home for a nap.
