45 Weeks

10 Months

Double Digits...10 Months! Ben is changing so fast. I blink and he is doing something new. He now has 6 teeth! 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. Thankfully these last few haven't been as hard on him as the first 2. He is trying more and more "people" food. He loves black olives despite Vince's hatred of them! And he has tried pickles, steak, plums, and a lot more. Ben has started waving! It is the cutest thing ever! He now waves at everyone that waves to him! He has mastered climbing stairs but hasn't figured out how to go down them. He is loving his toys more and more and has mastered how to use them quite well. His favorite right now is a truck that responds to sound and talks and rolls across the floor! Bedtime hasn't been as easy as it has previously has been. He use to just lay down and go to sleep now he screams. And I mean SCREAMS. This can last anywhere from 1 min to 30 min. I know he is just testing us. If we go in his room he immediately stops and then starts again when we leave. Hopefully this phase is short lived. He loves loves loves Elmo! Whenever he hears the Elmo song he stops and starts dancing and sometimes he sings! It is priceless! I think he got his Dad's good dance gene! He loves to listen to "his" music. He will get so mad in the car if his music isn't on. I on the other hand am so tired of kid songs! It is so amazing to watch him learn and grow everyday. We are so blessed to have him!

Who needs fancy toys...

I don't know why we spend money on toys when Ben would rather play with a empty kleenex box! He has spent the day putting the letter blocks from his train into the box and then pulls them or shakes them out.

Rupps & Capoeira Weekend

Last weekend was a fun weekend full of family! It's so nice to be back in KC and not miss out on all the fun family stuff we had missed for 3 years.

Saturday we had a Rupp bbq. It was so great to see everyone all in one place! It was also the first time that Ben got to meet some of Vince's Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. The Rupps are such a great fun loving family that I am lucky to be part of! I don't think I saw Ben from the moment we walked in until we got ready to leave! Ben had so much fun cheering on the all the cousins and uncles as they played basketball! He was clapping and yelling as he watched-it was too cute! He had his first experience on the in-ground trampoline! He loved it and it was so cute watching all the kids be so careful with him. He got to swing and even took a quick dip in the pool! It was great catching up with everyone! Sadly I for got my camera but took a few pic's my phone.

Sunday we headed to Patrick & Leah's Capoeira performance at St Theresa's. I wasn't sure how Ben would do since it was right in the middle of nap time but he did great! He sat on Grandma's lap and hardly took his eyes off the stage! He was clapping and singing the whole time! Patrick & Leah did an amazing job! It was so fun to watch them! I had brought my diaper bag camera and it decided that it wasn't in the mood to take good pic's. I am so bummed because it was such a great performance.

Labor Day Weekend

We ended summer the same be we kicked it off on Memorial Day weekend...in Oklahoma City! We left early Saturday morning and hit the road for our 5 hour drive south. We made a stop in Enid to see my Grandma Werner, Great Aunt Dorie, Aunt Sally and Uncle JC. Grandma and Aunt Dorie hadn't seen Ben since he was 7 weeks old so we were super excited to show him off again! And Sally & JC hadn't met him in person yet. Grandma made a nice lunch for us and then we hung out and watched Ben play and crawl all around exploring. It was so nice to catch up with everyone!

We left around 2 pm and luckily Ben slept all the way to Moore! We got there and ran right to the sink to wash our hands so we could finally get our hands on Taylor! She is even more adorable than her pictures! We had been waiting for what seems like forever to see her in person! Carrie and Mark have fallen right into parenthood! Carol & Jimmy also came down for the weekend. It was great that they got to spend so much time with Ben & Taylor! Saturday night Mark tried out his new meat smoker and we had a great dinner! Sunday started as a nice lazy morning and then we headed to lunch. After the lunch the girls hit up the new outlet mall which was crazy packed full of people. And the boys went to the shooting range and then fishing. Sunday we just ordered pizza and after the kids were asleep we enjoyed a few glasses of wine! Mark & Carrie made a great breakfast for us before we all hit the road back to KC.
It was a nice relaxing trip that I know we will do time and time again! Thanks to Carrie & Mark for a great weekend!
