Memorial Day Weekend

We decided on a last minute Memorial Day Weekend trip to Oklahoma City. We had yet to go down and see Carrie & Mark since they moved 1 1/2 years ago. We had planned on a Labor Day trip to OKC but that seemed really far away so we decided that since we didn't any plans we would head down. I was curious how Ben would do in the car for 5 hours. The last road trip he was on he was barely 6 weeks old and did great on our 13 hour drive from Pittsburgh to KC. The trip started out good with a snoozing baby but after about 3 hours or so he was not so happy being in the car. After a very long 15 minutes of him screaming he finally wore himself out and fell asleep. When we got to OKC we unloaded the car and headed to Norman. Mark drove us through OU's campus and took us to a local bar The Mont for some yummy beverages called a Swirl. We headed back to Moore and had a nice bbq with some of Carrie & Marks friends. It was a night full of great food, great people and great drinks! Sunday morning we headed downtown to an area called Brick Town and had lunch, toured the OKC Bombing Memorial and went to a speciality cupcake shop for dessert! While we were there we gave Ben mashed up organic bananas and to my surprise Ben was not a fan. This surprised the heck out of me since I ate bananas every day of my pregnancy and his oatmeal has bananas in it.We ordered in bbq for dinner and watch a movie in their home theatre. Monday morning we got up and loaded up the car and headed back to KC.

Thanks to Carrie & Mark for a great weekend! We can't wait to do it again Labor Day weekend (when we get to meet baby Taylor)!
