We've had a few firsts with the babies in the past week or so. Some good some bad. The "firsts" are one of my favorite things about having a baby/babies. I of course prefer the good to the bad and thankfully there seems to be more good!
1st Bite of Food
Last Sunday my parents came over for dinner and I brought up the big highchairs so the babies could join us in the dinning room. As we were sitting down to eat Vince said lets give them a Mum Mum and see what they do. So we did! Both babies were a bit unsure at first but then Will really took to it! He would scream if it fell out of his mouth! Abby could have taken it or left it. But now we have a kid who thinks every time he's at the table he should have a Mum Mum and screams until you give him one. He's one smart little dude.
1st Ear Infection
Will's reflux seemed to be getting bad again this week so on Wednesday I decided to take him in to see the doctor on Thursday after I took Ben to school. Wednesday night was a bit rough-Will was up most of the night from 3am on. It didn't help that Vince was out of town for most of the week (well he was in town but had his yearly sales meeting and had to stay downtown). So after that rough night I felt taking him to the doctor was the right call. So Thursday I took him and boy am I glad I did-poor little guy had an ear infection. We don't have much experience with ear infections-somehow Ben has only had one and it was when he had pneumonia a few Christmas's back. So we left with a prescription for an antibiotic and a new dosage for his reflux medicine. On the way home we went to CVS to see if the medicine was ready-it wasn't so I had to feed Abby in the parking lot while we waited. I wasn't about to go take them home and then load them back up 30 minutes later to come back to CVS. When we got home I gave Will his first dose of the antibiotic and he took it like such a trooper! He's had 5 doses as of now and seems to be feeling better. Hopefully this will be a first we will not be repeating anytime soon.
