A few weekends back was the Annual Rupp Lake Trip! We weren't sure until a few days before if we were brave enough to go this year with having two babies that were only 3 months old. But we decided to go for just 2 nights and if it wasn't going well we'd just pack up and come home at anytime. But boy did we worry for no reason the babies did- great we could have stayed the whole weekend. We planned on leaving about lunch time on Thursday and we made it out of the driveway about 1:15ish-right after we fill the babies tummy's up! The kids did great on the 2 1/2 hr drive and we only stopped once and that was for Vince to get his Starbucks fix.
Carol, Jimmy & Uncle John were waiting for us and we unloaded, set the babies stuff up and then Ben couldn't stand it anymore and had to go swimming! Then we took a nice boat ride-the water so like a sheet of glass so we felt safe taking the babies out in the boat and we didn't go out on the main channel either. We had a great dinner with some tasty wine and then we all crashed.
Friday morning we ate breakfast and hit the dock. We set the babies up on the dock in their pack n play. Ben was in and out of the water all day long! He learned how to canoe, rode the paddle boat & cruised around on the sea doo! Around lunch time the Katzer family arrived and Ben was beyond excited to see his cousins! The little later the Bairringtons arrived and Ben was super to see Taylor! Everyone was such a great help with the babies-it was so nice! We even got to have some baby free time on the dock soaking up some vitamin d & enjoying a tasty beverage or two!
All in all our first trip as a family of 5 went really well! The babies enjoyed checking off a few firsts-road trip, Will let out his first giggle & their first boat ride! We got to help Paige celebrate her 13th birthday! And spend some quality time with Uncle John! As usual we can't wait for next year!
