Welcome Home Abby & Will

That's how long Abby & Will were patients in room 3463.

We know how blessed we are that our 34 weekers only spent 14 days in the NICU. We know how blessed we are that they got to come home together. We know how blessed we are to be bringing 2 healthy babies home. We will never forget any of these early blessings as we move forward as a family of 5!

When we got to the hospital that morning the babies were snuggling together in one bassinet! Their awesome nurse Liz thought they needed some time together!

After their medical team did their final rounding on them the orders got signed off on and the babies were one step closer to breaking out of the nicu! So we started packing up, unhooked them from their monitors, got them dressed in their "coming home outfits" and into their car seats! I must say I was nervous when those monitors came off. They were our assurance that both their little hearts were beating away and they were breathing!

We had to sign a few papers and they were officially discharged. 

The babies were welcomed by Big Brother Ben & Grandma Carol! We were a bit nervous about how Ben would react-he thought that the babies were just going to live at the hospital! He wasn't quite sure for the first minute or two but then asked for them to sit on "his" couch with him. And he really liked them when the found out the babies got him presents!

The rest of our first day at home was full of unpacking, feeding babies and a lot of family couch time!
