Marco Island (Days 3, 4 & 5)

Day 3
Wednesday we decided to take Ben to the zoo in Naples. This was his first trip to a zoo. Sadly we were not very impressed by the Naples Zoo. They didn't have a lot of animals and it was pretty small. We walked the whole zoo in less than an hour. But the giraffes got Ben's attention so we hung out with them for a bit.
After we got back from the zoo and grabbed a quick lunch we headed down to the pool. Ben took a little snooze as we soaked up some more of the sun! We went to dinner across the street from the hotel at a Tex-Mex restaurant. The dinner was what was to be expected at a Tex-Mex chain.

After dinner we got Ben to bed and sat out on our terrace and had a few glasses of wine.

Day 4

Thursday we left the hotel and went to breakfast at a local diner. It was such a yummy breakfast! I was so bummed that we found it on our last day. When we got back to the hotel we decided to go for a walk on the beach and look for shells. Ben got to put his feet in the ocean for the first time! We ended up walking all the way to Vince's Grandparent's old condo. So we took some pic's and then headed back. We ate a late lunch at one of the hotel restaurants and then went to the pool. Ben went swimming again and really enjoyed it! We headed across the street again for dinner and then got some ice cream for the walk back. We spent the last night watching basketball and packing.

Day 5

We had to get up at 5am for our hour long drive to the airport and our 8:30am flight. Ben did good and fell back asleep in the car. The flight back was pretty good-Ben cried for a minute when he got hungry but overall I think he did great! He took a nice snooze on Vince the last half of the flight and woke up as we were landing. I was so sad to have to leave. Our trip went way to fast. We had to leave the 80 degree sunny days for 30 degree cloudy days. But thankfully we get to keep our tans for a few more weeks! We can't wait to go back next year!

  1. I like the photo of Sarah and Ben in the row of palm trees. Looks like he's on safari.
