We had a rather boring weekend in the Burgh, which was fine with us! Friday night we went to Vincent's Italian Restaurant for dinner. It is a very casual pizza and pasta restaurant not to far from our house. After dinner we decided to do a little work in the nursery. We got a lot of things organized and put away. Saturday morning we had a tour of the family birthing center at St Clair Hospital. There was 47 people in the tour group. We had an hour long presentation and q & a time before splitting into smaller groups and actually touring the facilities. It was nice to see the labor & delivery floor, actual rooms and the nursery. After the tour we headed downtown to make a quick return at BabyLand and then had lunch at Bistro 19 (one of our fav places)! Saturday night we grilled some steak and chicken and then watch a movie. Sunday was pretty uneventful, just hung around the house. We had our typical Italian Sunday feast for dinner and then watched the movie Babies!
Awhile back we were at the vet and they told us that fruits and veggies (except for onions, grapes, chocolate and raisins) are a much better snack/treat than typical dog treats. Since then we have increased his amount of fruits and veggies daily so we can help keep him healthy! He loves blueberries, broccoli, bananas and carrots the best. He is not a fan of celery, green beans or zucchini. Any type of melon makes his drool all over the kitchen until you give him some! This summer we found out that he loves corn on the cob! We don't give him the cob of course but if you hold it for him he will eat it right off the cob. Vince took some pictures Saturday night of him chowing down!

Mr. Miles
Vince likes to see what he can get Miles to wear (hats, clothes, glasses, ect...) here are a few recent pictures.
Reading in bed!
Vince tied all of Miles' Octi's (he loves loves loves his octopuses)to him and he walked around like that until I found him and saved him!
Miles wanted to look like Daddy and wear a tie!

Baby Shower
Belly Pictures & Painting
Back in April while we were in KC one of Patricks friends Andy who is a body paint artist offered to paint my stomach later on in my pregnancy. While we were in KC last weekend we were able to meet up with him at his photographers loft and get some pictures taken before the painting began.
I really wanted the pictures to be about the belly and I am happy with how they came out.
After the pictures the painting began. Andy and I had the idea of doing the landscape of Lawrence, Kansas. The painting took under an hour and then we shot some pictures.
I am so happy that we got to do something out of the box to document this time on our life. I hope that Itty will think it is cool that he was a canvas for a one of a kind piece of art!

Itty 27 Weeks 3D
Here are some of the pictures from the 3D ultrasound we had today. Itty was sleeping almost the whole time and liked to literally fold himself in half! as he slept. His feet were up at the top of his head and his hands were up to his face (as usual). We saw him open his eyes a few times which was neat! He had some big yawns too! He also likes to put his hands in his mouth and play with the umbilical cord. He is breach right now. His head is under my ribs and his butt is sitting on my bladder. This would explain the heartburn and constant trips to the bathroom! He looks to be just shy of 2 pounds and doesn't have much hair (if any). It was confirmed again that he is still a boy! He was not shy at all today about letting us know for sure! It is so crazy to think that in the next 9-13 weeks he will be here!

Itty was tired so he turned around and faced my back and snuggled right into me! He is a cuddle bug already!

26 Weeks
Vince took this picture at dinner on Sunday-he thinks it's funny because it looks like I am standing at a bar! The belly is really starting to grow! I can feel Itty more and more now and you can see him move from the outside of my stomach-so crazy! I had my 1 hour glucose test this morning. Fingers Crossed that we don't get a call from the doctor...no news is good news!
Parent Visit Round 3
We have been so lucky to have all of our parents out for a visit this summer! It was a great way for Vince & I to explore Pittsburgh a bit more than we already had. And for our parents to get to see where we are living now!
Saturday we went and picked up Larry from the airport and headed to Pirmanti Brothers for lunch. Pirmanti Brothers is a Pittsburgh staple. Back in the 1930's, Joe Primanti opened a cart in the Strip District selling sandwiches to truckers on the go. To make the meal easier to eat on the go they would put the coleslaw and french fries on the sandwich! This made the sandwiches huge but so so so tasty!
After lunch we had Happy Hour on the deck and grilled some steaks for dinner! It was a great Saturday night!
Sunday we headed to our favorite breakfast spot called The Italian Oven. Then the guys headed off the PNC Park to watch a Pirates game. Sadly they lost but that didn't shock anyone too much! Vince also took him to the top of Mount Washington to see the sights of Pittsburgh! We went to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants for dinner called Old Mexico. After stuffing our faces we headed home but stopped for some ice cream first! Then we watched some old family home movies. It was really neat to see the everyone in the home movies!
Monday we headed downtown to the Heinz History & Sports Museum. We learned a lot about sports teams in and around Pittsburgh and well as the history of the city itself. I think the part we enjoyed the most was the actual Heinz museum. We learned a lot about ketchup! After working up an appetite we went to Eleven for lunch. When we got home the guys headed to the Rec Center for a work-out and some pool time. I decided to stay at home with Miles in the AC! That KC heat wave has made it to the Burgh and it's HOT! We made a nice dinner at home and then played a bit of frisbee with Miles!
We are so happy that Larry came out to visit us! It was such a good long weekend!
