Babies:: 23 Weeks
Abby & Will's Baptism
On Sunday we had the babies baptized. We wanted to baptize them at St Agnes to follow with the tradition of myself & Ben being baptized there. We had chosen the babies godparents while I was still pregnant back in November and we just hoped everyone would accept the honor for the babies. We chose Vince's sister Carrie & our brother-in-law Kurt to be Will's and my brother Matt & Aunt Joie to be Abby's all of which accepted! We feel so very blessed to have these 4 very special people looking over Abby & Will. The ceremony went great-the priest was a jokester and the babies did great! Ben cried for a lot of his so we were pleasantly surprised that the babies did so great! After the ceremony we headed over to my parents house and had a nice reception. It was a great time and great to see so many of our family & friends come out to help celebrate with the babies. We want to extend a huge thank you for all of you who took the time out of your Sunday to help us celebrate-It meant so very much to us to have you there. An extra special thank you to my parents for all their help and the use of their home! And a big thank you to Aunt Joie for making the babies their first lamb cakes & famous cookies!

A Few More Firsts...
Well what a week its been at the Rupp house. It's a week I'd rather soon forget to say the least. Unfortunately all the firsts for this post are bad firsts.
Poor Will ended up at the doctor twice last week-and got diagnosed with his second ear infection in 2 weeks as well as croup. That kid is still a rock star though. I can only imagine how crappy he felt but he still would give us smiles and play. He got a new 10 day round of antibiotics for his ear and 3 days of steroids for the croup. We've now been warned that its not a good sign that he has had two ear infections within 2 weeks and only being 4 months old. Today he really seems to be on the up and up from everything. Only coughing a bit and has started to finish bottles again!

And now on to Abby...
On Saturday we had a bit of an accident that landed us at Children's Mercy in the ER. Ben was rocking/ spinning in the nursery chair and it tipped over-he and the chair fell and landed on Abby's head as she had been laying on the floor. Vince & I were right there and got to Abby in a matter of 2 seconds-she was screaming and crying which was a good sign but since there was an extra 32 lbs of toddler that fell along with the chair we thought it was best to go to the ER. Ben was alright just scared and upset that he just Abby. As soon as we got to Children's Mercy they rushed Abby right back and she got an exam and then straight to get a CT scan. I was so nervous that they would have to sedate her but I got her to sleep while we wired and she slept through the whole scan! It was a very long 30 minutes as we waited for the results. Thankfully she didn't have any bleeding or a skull fracture just a mild concussion. She needed to eat before we could leave to ensure she kept her food down which she did. We were told to return if she threw up more than once, was inconsolable, had a seizure or just didn't seem right. Needless to say she slept in our room Saturday night and I woke up at least 10 times to check on her! But she slept all night without incident! We had a follow up today and she got a clean bill of health! So now Abby can cross off Er Trip & CT Scan from her list of firsts.

Ben's Big Red Bike
We had been talking for months that we needed to get Ben a "real" bike so he could ditch the tricycle. And after a play date at his best bud Charlie's house yesterday where they rode bikes for a good hour plus I knew we couldn't wait any longer. So this morning after breakfast we headed out to buy a bike! Ben was beyond excited to say the least. We headed straight to the bike section at the sporting goods store. He picked out a red bike-shocker! He rode that bike all over the store! As soon as we got home he ran and got his helmet and wanted to go for a bike ride! He likes us to hold onto the bike when he rides-he's a bit nervous. But I'm sure that will pass soon.
