Babies:: 51 Weeks

Abby's hair is long enough to have her 1st ponytail

Both took "big kid" baths-no bathseat

Will discovered the dishwasher

2 weeks ago we had our first ever school conference for Ben. I'll be honest...I was a bit nervous. I drop him off on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9am-3pm and never really get much out of him on what went on for those 6 hours but his teachers always say he had a good day! Well I was nervous for no reason...turns out he got rave reviews form both his teachers! He got all "M's"-like straight A's but for preschool! They said he loves hanging out with his buddies...Charlie R, Austin & Ben K. They said he is a great listener and almost always uses good manners. To prep for the conference they asked him to write his name on the front of his folder which he did great on! They aren't working on it in school but we are a bit at home. They also asked him to cut a cutting worksheet and they showed us what a great job he did especially when it came to stopping at the top of the page! Then they asked his to count and we made it to 14 before he got tripped up and skipped number 15 and went right on to 16. Again they said he was doing great because they are only working on 1-10 right now. We've been working on counting to 30 at home and the number 15 always seems to trip Ben up. They said he knows all his colors & shapes They gave him a worksheet and only read him the directions and he did great coloring the shapes. They also gave him a coloring sheet and said that they were really impressed with the work he put into it compared to other kids. We are so proud of him and how much learning he has done this past school year!

1st Real Snow of 2015

Poor Ben had been waiting all winter for snow and then once he got his "snowboard" from Santa he really couldn't wait! Presidents Day morning we woke up to a good few inches of fresh snow! Ben was so excited! But then I looked at the temperature and it was cold. Like really cold. Like way closer to 0 than 32. But how could we say no? So we said we could go out and play for just 15 minutes or so. Not to mention the babies had brand new snowsuits with the tags still on that I was doing to get them into. So we started the task of bundling everyone up and we finally made it out the door about 20 minutes later! The babies were less than impressed by the cold & the snow. Abby was not having any single part of it. She didn't even like her sled. Will warned up to the sledding after a few minutes. And Ben well Ben was in heaven! Pure heaven. That kid would have stayed out there all day long had we let him. The kids all made snow angels, did some sledding and then it was time for hot chocolate!
