Game Day

We had a very busy Sunday full of football & basketball. We got up and dressed in our Chiefs clothes and Vince made rotel dip for the game! We had high hopes and really thought it would have been cool for our old city and new city to play each other next weekend but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. But I am still proud to be a Chiefs fan and can't wait to see what next season holds.

After the Chiefs loss we changed into our Jayhawk gear and headed to Ben's first KU watch party. This was the first watch party in Pittsburgh and I hope that there is enough interest to keep it up. This was also Ben's first time in a bar and first time fitting into his KU basketball jersey!

Ben's First Snow

From Thursday to Saturday we got a few inches of snow. This was the first shoveling snow of the winter season. So we decided to take Ben outside for a few minutes and introduce him to snow!

2 Months

Yesterday marked 2 months for Baby Ben! So we put our our 2 month onsie (which was a tad snug!) and got out the camera! At the beginning of the shoot he was not in the mood for pictures but once we got started he was a great sport! I love that he smiles so much more now! He has started to really giggle a lot! It is one of the best sounds I have ever heard.

Here a few of my favorites...

8 Weeks

8 Weeks! I wish I could slow this first year down. It is going so fast and he just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I have to pack away more clothes this weekend. It makes me so sad. He has gotten a triple chin and his thighs are super chunky. We are now up to 5oz and trying to go 3 hours between feedings. This week we have been treated to a full night sleep every night (knocking on wood)! He normally crashes out between 10-11pm and sleeps until 6:30-7:30am. I sure hope we can keep this up! We go to the doctor next week and I can't wait to see how much he weight he has gained.

Happy Birthday Miles!

December 31st was Miles' 6th birthday! I can't believe he is 6 years old. Vince gave him to me for Valentines Day in 2005 and that just seems like yesterday. He has been on quite a journey with us...4 houses, 3 cities, 2 states and a baby! Miles is such a character he has to have his Octi (stuffed octopus) with his at all times! We have them on every floor of the house, in the cars and he has a special outside Octi. He also loves road trips, hotels, and elevators! And he knows when his "diaper bag" comes out that one or all of these things are going to happen. We even took him to NYC with us a few years ago and he had a blast! Frisbee, walks and running on the trails are his favorite activities-weather permitting. On Saturday mornings he goes with Vince to Starbucks and to wash my truck. He loves it! He is so stinkin' smart that sometimes drives me nuts. He is such a great "helper" all day! He has to have jobs all day or he goes crazy. He seems to really love Baby Ben! I can't wait and see how their relationship will continue to grow! I love him so much and can't imagine that he won't be with us one day.

Vince got up early on Friday to go pick him up from the kennel (we got in to late to pick him up on Thursday). After his bath we all hung out and played. After our dinner we gave him his birthday cake. I had bought it for him at Land of Paws while we were in KC. I even put it on our traditional red "you are special plate"-which totally freaked him out. So I took it off the plate and put it on the floor which he was still confused about so I took the cake and put it in his bowl. Apparently this was finally the right spot because he ate his birthday cake and seemed to really like it! We also got him a Jayhawk cookie but waited until the next night for him to enjoy that treat!

NYE 2010

HaPpY NeW YeAr!

NYE at the Rupp's was quite boring but I wouldn't have traded it for anything. We grilled a nice steak dinner, made some popcorn and hung out on the couch. I didn't think we would actually make it to midnight but Ben was still up so we made it! And then it was lights out and Ben gave us a great gift of 7 straight hours of sleep!

As we closed the chapter on 2010 it is still hard for me to believe that our goal for 2010-to have a baby actually came true! We have been truly blessed and now I can't wait to see what 2011 has in store for us!

Wishing everyone a VERY Happy & Healthy 2011!

Rock Chalk Jayhawk

Our last night in KC was Wednesday and we were lucky enough to got to the KU game with Dad, Matt, Patrick & Leah. We headed to Lawrence early so we could go eat at Quintons! I can't tell you the last time I had their potato soup in a bread bowl and it was better than I remembered! After dinner we headed to Allen Fieldhouse. It has been a few years since I had been in that magical building and I had forgot how powerful it is! I wish I could describe the feeling but those who have been know what I am talking about! KU had a nice victory over UTA so the home winning streak didn't end on our watch! But the best part by far was when Baby Ben made his debut on the scoreboard! Yes that's right Ben's picture was put up on the scoreboard during a timeout in the second half! At the beginning of the game Vince emailed a picture of Ben in his KU hat and he made the cut and was put up on the screen! Sadly we weren't able to get a picture but maybe next time we go with him he will make it on the screen live! It was so neat to hear Patrick and Matt yell when they saw Ben on the screen! Unfortunately Dad and Leah missed his debut but 4 out of 6 of us catching it isn't bad!
